I bought these for a trip to Europe for all the walking that I’ll be doing. I am currently walking Amsterdam and the shoes are comfortable and I love the colorway but when we started walking through the Rijks museum where it was quieter I noticed how loud and squeaky they are. Hopefully when they’re broken it’ll calm down but I have another pair of (different brand) shoes that do that and they never stopped making noise. We’ll see.

I bought these shoes for a trip to France in the fall. I have migrated from a size 9 shoe to a size 9.5 with age, and a lot of the recommended travel sneakers (hooka, vionic) look huge on my feet. This shoe is attractive and comfortable. It will look great dressed up and dressed down. The taupe will go with a lot of colors and will show less dirt than white. I bought the mephisto stain treatment spray and that was easy to use and will hopefully protect the leather. The fit is comfortable. Sometimes tennis shoes rub my ankle, and these do not. I have worn them a few times and do not have any hot spots from rubbing. I do wish the ball of my foot toward the front of the shoe had a bit more padding. I laced the shoes similar to how it is shown in the picture and they are a little bit hard to tighten and get my foot in because the laces go into the eye sockets in a downward orientation. I think I am going to switch the laces to a more traditional upward through the eye sockets lacing so I don’t have this (small) hassle putting the shoe on while traveling. I wish I could have purchased a spare set of shoe laces in the same color because it is very distinct and sometimes laces show more dirt than leather. Also I would have purchased a pair of longer laces in the same color because I went down a bit of a rabbit hole looking at sneaker lacing styles. All in all they are a great shoe for travel, date night, and going out with the girls.

True to size and very comfortable.

I have purchased this style for a number of years. The comfort and fit are perfect. I have been very disappointed recently that Mephisto seems to have discontinued any of the grey suede upper and light grey sole versions which had become a staple of my wardrobe. I hope this is a temporary issue.
