Sizing Recommendations Explained

We want to ensure you find the perfect fit for your feet. Our sizing recommendations are based on customer feedback and product design. Here's what you need to know:

Runs Small

This style runs smaller than our standard sizes.

If you're between sizes, we recommend sizing up for a comfortable fit.

Ex. If you are between sizes, we recommend going up ½ size or 1 full size to your normal size. For example, if you are typically a size 7.5-8.0, we recommend you order a size 9. Please note: Sandals only come in full sizes.

True Size

This style fits as expected, matching our standard size chart.

If you normally wear a size 8, you can confidently order a size 8.

Runs Large

This style runs larger than our standard sizes.

If you're between sizes, we recommend sizing down for a comfortable fit.

Ex. If you are between sizes, we recommend subtracting 1 full size or ½ size to your normal size. For example, of you are typically a 7.0-7.5 or, we suggest you order a size 6.

Description

This sandal can be adapted to suit all styles and tastes. The SOFT-AIR midsole and SHOCK-ABSORBER integrated into the outsole reduce shock to a minimum for a smooth, fatigue-free walk. AIR-RELAX technology respects the anatomy of the foot to prevent arch collapse. The Violaine combines comfort with a perfect fit thanks to adjustable hook-and-loop straps, one of which is embellished with a metallic ornament for a touch of fantasy. The leather lining ensures a healthy climate inside the shoe.

THE PROPER FIT FACTOR

You may have never experienced properly fitting footwear; it may be that Mephisto will fit differently than any shoe you have ever worn. This is a common experience and it should be noted that proper fit is critical to comfort. With walking, it is important to give your toes a substantial degree of freedom. They should never be “locked in”, one against another. Mephisto shoes should provide plenty of room in the toe area. The same thinking applies to your heel. The Mephisto heel is not designed to fit snug. A comfortable walking shoe will flex and bend with your foot. Your foot should be cradled, not bound. A properly fitting shoe should not have to be “broken in” to be comfortable…they should be comfortable from the very first step you take.

Sizing

Sizing can vary from style to style which means you may not wear the same size in all your shoes. Also, our sandals are available in full sizes only. If you are normally a half size in a Mephisto shoe, you should size up to the next size. Below are some size conversion charts which offer general guidelines for converting your size to another scale.
