Runs Large

This style runs larger than our standard sizes.

THE PROPER FIT FACTOR

You may have never experienced properly fitting footwear; it may be that Mephisto will fit differently than any shoe you have ever worn. This is a common experience and it should be noted that proper fit is critical to comfort. With walking, it is important to give your toes a substantial degree of freedom. They should never be “locked in”, one against another. Mephisto shoes should provide plenty of room in the toe area. The same thinking applies to your heel. The Mephisto heel is not designed to fit snug. A comfortable walking shoe will flex and bend with your foot. Your foot should be cradled, not bound. A properly fitting shoe should not have to be “broken in” to be comfortable…they should be comfortable from the very first step you take.

Sizing

Sizing can vary from style to style which means you may not wear the same size in all your shoes. Also, our sandals are available in full sizes only. If you are normally a half size in a Mephisto shoe, you should size up to the next size. Below are some size conversion charts which offer general guidelines for converting your size to another scale.

Unfortunately I must have not ordered 11 WIDE. My 'little toe' hangs over the foot-bed and the shoe is thus difficult to wear. I am unable to return the sandles because I disposed of the mailing box before trying to wear the sandles.

very comfortable, tighten up nicely for support and the side zipper makes them easy to get into. I found them very supportive walking downtown on hard pavement, when I had to do a lot of it...my feet didn't get tired or feel beat up.

This beautiful pair of shoes are PERFECT! A gift to our 80 year ‘young’ mother. Mom prefers less of a sole and to be ‘closer to the earth’, to help with her with balance. This Niro style has been excellent through weight gain/ weight loss, surgeries and recovery. The Velcro’s adjusts to her foot and is easy to put on and take off herself. This is the FOURTH Niro pair Mom has owned and not because of wear, the variety in color inspires her create new outfits. These shoes are very well made! This fun cream and brown pattern made her 80th birthday extra special! Gratitude. *additional note, she tried the the mesh Niro but found them to feel itchy compared to the solid construction. Surely, the mesh style serve a ventilation purpose for others in a warmer climate!

I have always had birkenstock sandals. These are a far better cork sandal with a better sole.
